  • Discover the secret they swore not to tell—from the “bestselling old-school horror author” of the “twisted, bizarre, and sometimes terrifying” (The Lineup). In 1973, thirteen kids with an appetite for something different went out to play. First came the ritual and the dare . . . then the screaming and the blood. Before the night was over, only eleven children survived to share a terrible secret. Twenty-six years later, the small town of Denton, Missouri, has been rocked by three brutal murders—each victim bound by a childhood friendship stained with blood. Far from the shadow of suspicion, far from the memories of an unforgivable crime, the past has returned with a vengeance. And this time, the fun and games are just beginning.

  • According to the Urban Dictionary a Blood Oath; is an agreement or contract that must be ordered and completed no matter what. In ancient times when people cut themselves or cut something like an animal, they would sprinkle the blood on the altar as part of religious action. They would swear to uphold and perform the task, no matter what. Today a blood oath generally means that a person has sworn to do something, the individual must carry out their promise. The blood oath is usually being done by mobsters and crooks. In the story that I wrote the blood oath is made by the hero who tried to save the people that he loved, but failed and feels that the only way they can rest in peace is by making a blood oath so that in the next life they can rest easy.

  • I should hate them, yet there's no denying my body reacts to their every touch. When my ancestors lost everything in a business deal gone wrong, they were forced to make a sacrifice-a blood oath, promising the firstborn daughter of their bloodline to a league of vampires. And now they've come to collect. Atlas. Kade. Gabriel. Lex. All seductively sexy and unimaginably dangerous. Torn from everything I've ever known, they take me captive in their Washington, D.C. mansion. Each is determined to own me-body, heart, and soul. I'd be lying if I said the thought of that didn't make my skin tingle in anticipation. Still, the alluring immortals are in for a surprise, because ancient debt aside, I'm not going down without a fight. • Downwind: the area of the United States that received the brunt of the fallout from nuclear testing. As a result, humans developed cancers and congenital malformations… and so did the creatures in the River, the place where people with “the gift” see things others cannot. Twenty-year-old Deem is gifted, but she is on her own without her mentor, her late father. Deem's family is now targeted by a strange creature that climbs on their roof at night and infects the house with poison. With help from the charismatic Winn, Deem tries to stop the attacks, but this is only the beginning, with more ghosts, Callers, and mutated creatures to come. Deem met Steven and Roy when she helped save their son from the ghosts at St. Thomas. She was impressed by Roy's use of their ancestors' journals to assist with their work. Deem is confident her father left behind a journal for her somewhere, but her dangerous search becomes riddled with menacing secrets and revelations, putting people's lives at risk. Deem and Winn are not alone; they are helped by Awan, a handsome Paiute who knows Native American tradition and can explain the strange forces targeting Deem. They also meet Carma, a friendly soul with a fantastic and valuable secret buried in her house. Blood Oath, Blood River is the first book in The Downwinders Series, a spinoff of The River Series, in which Deem and Winn first appear in Book Six, Devil's Throat. Blood Oath, Blood River is a stand-alone novel; no prior experience with The River Series is necessary to enjoy it. Fans of The River Series will be intrigued by this new exploration of the River, set in a place where downwind radiation has made the ghosts and creatures of the River strange and unpredictable.

  • First, the setting of the story: Fleetwood is a small town circa 1911, located in the swamps in Southern Mississippi between the fictitious cities of Shoenburg and Meridean (note: the location is generic. Could be in the Everglades of Florida) The town is divided into two factions: the town dwellers who are mainly employees of a fictitious company who capture snakes and alligators and turn their hydes into boots, clothing, etc. The second faction consists of the farmers and their families, who live at surrounding farms. These people are the older families who received their land when the owner of a prior cattle empire sold out his business and gave the land to the drovers, who became settlers. The two factions do not associate much. Especially the farmers, who discourage associating with the others. At the time of this story, the town is living in an unknown fear due to the fact that over the past nine months, four boys between the ages of 11 and 15 have been murdered and left in alligator pits. Nobody knows why. At a Shoenburg college reunion, the town doctor, who has lost a son due to a previous typhoid epidemic, meets and adopts a ten year old orphan boy who is a mute due to a previous physchogically damaging incident that left him an orphan. The town doctor takes him back to Fleetwood to live. As he adjusts to living in his new environment, which includes dealing with bullies, and becoming close friends with an outcast young teen, he encounters and witnesses events that relate to the murders of the boys and why they are happening. Eventually, he and his friend encounter the killer and are nearly murdered by him, but escape. From this point, he becomes a target of the killer although he had nothing to do with the events that are causing the murders. The doctor, at this point, dedicates himself to solving the murders before the killer can get to the boy. The reasons for the killings go back to a horrifying incident that happened in the town 30 years ago, i

  • An historical novel set in 997AD about a young Norwegian Viking, Magnus Haraldsson, who takes a blood oath to revenge the death of his father and the ravishing of his mother and sister at the hands of marauding Vikings. In tense and direct language the reader follows Magnus and his brave serf through one exploit after another as he gets the martial arts experience and training he needs to combat his sworn enemy, 'Hjartan the Terrible' Viking style! The story is believable and mirrors the conditions of the times. It gives exact locations and historical details. The book is the culmination of forty years of research, using the author's knowledge of Icelandic, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, German and Russian. His effort gives an unprecedented view of details of everyday life in long forgotten locations. The problems confronting the Vikings of the late tenth century are brought to life for readers young and old. Editor's comments: "The novel has a wonderful old-fashioned feel. It has knowledge of men at sea and at war, but manages to weave women into the story, too, in a chivalrous way." "Everyone will want to read to find out if Magnus will complete his blood oath."
